Rippey Lions Club – The Rippey Lions Club met March 17 with a meal prepared by Bev Derry, Phyllis Bardole and Maralynn Rinker and served by Maralynn. During the business meeting the group discussed charitable donations for Camp Hertko Hollow for children with diabetes near Boone and other worthwhile groups. Further plans were made for Rippey DAZE on July 30 including bouncy houses for children.

Jason Abbas of Perry presented the program featuring a recent hunting trip to Romania and  Kazakhstan with breathtaking pictures of mountainous terrain and shared stories of people he met during his travels. 

The next Lions Club meeting will be on Thursday, April 7, beginning with a potluck meal at 6 pm at the Rippey United Methodist Church. ~ Nancy Hanaman, reporter

Visit grandparents – Elizabeth and Andrea Pearson from Superior, WI, spent the week with their grandparents, Dale and Nancy Hanaman. During the nice weather early in the week, the girls raked and picked up limbs and sticks from the big derecho pile.  They also journeyed to Des Moines to visit their cousins, Sydney and Nemo Bardurian. 

The following day they traveled to Reiman Gardens in Ames for a toasty time in the Butterfly Garden at 80 degrees. Andrea and Elizabeth were guests at the Rippey Lions Club meeting on Thursday. Dale and Nancy and the girls met their parents in Albert Lea, MN, on Saturday for their return trip to Superior.
